The Mansa Musa Project’s mentoring programs will provide an establishment with frequent visits from successful individuals to share knowledge to the youth. During that time, the youth will participate in weekly planned activities to expose them to a lifestyle outside of their own and improve the young person’s confidence and hopefulness.
The young individuals will receive continuous training on professionalism, self-confidence, and interpersonal skills throughout the year. All youth will participate in monthly meetings to report their progress. Over time, The Mansa Musa Project will create a learning environment that will be an invaluable resource to young people, aspiring mentors and the community at large.
Mentoring programs for at risk youth have been proven to help increase student academic achievement as well as socialization development. Mentors and mentees are matched based on common interests and personality traits. They may engage in volunteering activities, black tie affairs, football games, basic etiquette, or social gatherings.
