Why Is It Important To Come Together As A Community?

Building a strong community focusing on helping everyone thrive is imperative for success and growth. The goal of the Mansa Musa Project is to help build a strong report between families and their community in order to make a positive impact with lasting effects for generations. People coming together with the shared goal of helping the at-risk youth of today succeed is a much stronger plan for success than leaving it up to children to make it work on their own. Come together and join our growing community today!

Listed below are some of the goals of the Mansa Musa Project:

Coming Together To Educate: Every year, over 1.2 million students drop out of high school in the United States. That’s a student every 26 seconds – or 7,000 students a day. Our goal is to help create plans for success for at-risk students struggling to stay in school and excel in their classes. When students are given resources for tutoring and work with mentors who help them to create and reach goals, they are more likely to stay in school. We believe that education is critical for our students to lead productive and joyful lives because “Only the educated are free.”

Coming Together To Stop Violence: When children and young adults struggle to stay in school and lose focus on the things that matter most, they can easily fall into the wrong crowd. The highest crime rates in youth exist between the ages of 15 and 19 years old. Our program is dedicated to helping at-risk youth from falling through the cracks of our society by exposing them to a different way of life before the consequences are too great to overcome. We work with struggling students, high school dropouts, and those who have already become entangled with the juvenile court system.

The Mansa Musa Project is a program designed to identify at-risk youth who are going to have a turbulent transition to adulthood and offering them a positive support system to avoid the common pitfalls that can derail the trajectory of their lives. We offer a comprehensive approach to providing resources and positive outlets for each young adult enrolled in the program. While our focus is slightly different at each level of the program, the goal remains the same: To empower the young person to make positive changes in his life.
